Londres es una de las ciudades más turísticas del mundo por sus monumentos, el ambiente de sus calles y pubs, y sobre todo por las compras. Sus tiendas incluso se han teletransportado alguna vez a Madrid y las hemos podido disfrutar en el mismo corazón de la capital española.
London is one of most tourist cities of the world due to its monuments, street and pubs atmosphere and, of course, its "shopping". Its stores have even been teleported to Madrid in anytime and we can just enjoy them in the heart of the Spanish capital.
Cuando visitas por primera vez la ciudad estás obligado a ver los principales monumentos como el Big Ben, Palacio de Buckingham o "El ojo de Londres".... pero en posteriores ocasiones puedes ir saboreando otros lugares como los que te muestro en esta entrada, seguro que no tan llamativos como los primeros, pero también con un puro sabor londinense... lugares fuera de circuito
When you visit the city for the very first time you must see the major sights as Big Ben or "London Eye"... but in later times, you can get a taste of other places as I show in this post, certanly not as stiking as the first but with a pure flavor London... places off the circuit.

GREENWICH
El Cutty Sark fue, en 1869, uno de los últimos veleros de tipo clipper en ser construidos. Realizaba la ruta del té desde China hasta Inglaterra haciéndose famoso en la carrera del té de 1872 contra el Thermopylae debido a que, a pesar de perderla por la rotura del timón, finalmente llegó gracias a la decisión de su capitán de seguir con un timón improvisado en vez de parar a repararlo. Se encuentra en dique seco desde 1954 en Greenwich sobre un museo y un restaurante acristalado.
The Cutty Sark was, in 1869, one of the last sailing clipper type to be built. It performed the Route Tea from China to England becoming famous in the tea race against Thermopylae in 1872 because, despite losing it due to the rudder break, finally came thanks to his captain's decision to continue with an improvised rudder instead of stopping to fix. It is in dry dock in Greenwich since 1954 on a museum and a conservatory restaurant.

Delante del Cutty Sark arranca el "Greenwich Foot Tunel", construido en 1899 bajo el río Támesis e inaugurado en 1902, con una longitud 400 metros. Permanece abierto 24 horas y forma parte del UK's National Cycle Route 1 (ruta ciclista) desde Inverness en Escocia a Dover. Se pide a los ciclista que realicen el recorrido desmontados de sus bicicletas.
The "Greenwich Foot Tunel" launch in front of the Cutty Sark , built in 1899 under the Thames river and inaugurated in 1902, with a length 400 meters. It is 24 hours open and it is also part of the UK's National Cycle Route 1 linking Inverness and Dover. Cyclists are required to dismount and push their bikes through the tunnel itself.
METHODIST CENTRAL HALL (Westminster)
Enfrente de la Abadía de Westminster el Methodist Central Hall actualmente es un edificio multiuso que incluye un iglesia metodista, una galería de arte y un centro de conferencias. En este edificio se celebró la primera reunión de la Asamblea General de Naciones Unidas en 1946.
In front of Westminster Abbey, Methodist Central Hall is now a multipurpose building that includes a Methodist church, an art gallery and a conference center. In this building the first meeting of the UN General Assembly was held in 1946.
CATEDRAL DE WESTMINSTER (42 Francis St)
La fama de la Abadía de Westminster quizá eclipsa a la de la Catedral de Westmisnter que es la catedral católica de Londres situada en el mismo barrio, con una peculiar arquitectura construida en ladrillo rojo.
The fame of Westminster Abbey maybe eclipses the Cathedral of Westminster wich is the catholic cathedral of London located in the same neighborhood, with a unique architecture built in red brick.
ROYAL ALBERT HALL (Kensington Gore, London, SW7 2AP)
La típica educación en el comportamiento inglés proviene de la corrección en las costumbres que impuso la Reina Victoria. En la época victoriana (1837-1901) estaba mal visto expresar los sentimientos. Sin embargo la propia reina, profundamente enamorada de su marido Alberto, levantó multitud de edificios y monumentos en su memoria cuando éste falleció, como el Royal Albert Hall, uno de los teatros más emblemáticos del mundo, así como el dorado monumento adyacente. Este Príncipe consorte pasó a la historia por crear la primera Exposición Universal en 1851 en el Crystal Palace situado en Hyde Park.

Muy cerca de la plaza de Trafalgar Square, prácticamente en una esquina de la misma, se encuentra este edificio. Deshabitado actualmente, estuvieron las oficinas donde se vendieron todos los pasajes del Titanic, aunque toda la tripulación era de Liverpool y el barco partió del puerto de Southampton.
Very close to Trafalgar Square, almost in a corner of it, is this building. Currently uninhabited, were the offices where the Titanic all tickets were sold although the entire crew was from Liverpool and the ship left the port of Southampton.
COVENT GARDEN MARKET (The Market, London, WC2E 8RF)
El mercado de Covent Garden es uno de los más populares de Londres. En fin de semana no cabe ni un alfiler y la gente de divierte con imitadores de Mr. Bean y hace colas para degustar un plato de paella.
Covent Garden Market is one of the most popular in London. On weekends it is not even a needle and people fun with Mr. Bean impersonators and makes queues to taste a dish of paella.

Fortnum & Mason es uno los almacenes de Londres más exclusivos junto con Harrods. Es proveedor oficial de la Casa Real y puedes encontrar todo tipo de exquisiteces tanto en comidas, tés, dulces como en porcelanas inglesas o menaje para la casa. En su última planta un decilioso salón de té nos transporta a una época pasada.
Fortnum & Mason is one of the most exclusive stores London with Harrods. It is official supplier to the Royal Family and you can find all kinds of delicacies both meals, teas, sweets and English porcelain or household items. On the top floor a delightful tea room transports you to a time gone.
GALERIA BURLINGTON (51 Piccadily St.)
En tiempos de la Reina Victoria la persistente lluvia de Londres producía que las embarradas calles le impidiesen hacer sus compras. Para que los reales pies no se mojaran se construyeron las Galerías Burlington con las tiendas más elegantes dignas de una reina.
In the time of Queen Victoria London persistent rain was causing the muddy streets prevented her shopping. For royal feet do not get wet the Burlington Galleries were built with the most elegant shops worthy of a queen.

Otra elegante galería situada muy cerca de la anterior la Princess Arcade donde podemos encontrar tiendas muy exclusivas.
