Yepes, la Villa donde está ubicada la Catedral de la Mancha

Colegiata de San Benito conocida como "Catedral de la Mancha" situada en la Plaza Mayor

Yepes es una pequeña población de Toledo que no es muy reconocida en los circuitos turísticos pero que merece la pena visitar por su gran patrimonio histórico debido a su pujanza en los siglos XVI y XVII. Yepes fue catalogada Conjunto Histórico-Artístico por su gran cantidad de monumentos de interés. De hecho se ha ganado el sobrenombre de Toledillo, por los lugares históricos que se conservan de las tres culturas que han habitado la villa desde tiempos antiguos. En esta villa se falsificó la bula papal que permitió la boda de los Reyes Católicos y fue natural Calderón de la Barca. Sigamos paseando por ella para conocerla.

En nuestra infancia estudiamos en el colegio la Historia de España, con mayor o menor interés, según las inclinaciones de cada uno. Dicen que la cultura es lo que que nos queda después de haberlo olvidado todo. Y como tantas cosas que olvidamos, también fueron los detalles y las fechas de los Reyes Católicos. Pero la televisión, que todo lo puede, nos ha traído en 2013 un personaje cercano, de carne y hueso, que se llama Isabel y que nos ha cautivado mostrándonos  una novela que es real y que fue tan importante para la historia de España.

In our childhood we studied in school history in Spain, with more or less interest, according to the desires of each. They say that culture is what we have left after you have forgotten everything. Trujillo ha sido nombrado como uno de “Los pueblos más bonitos de España” por ser uno de los municipios más turísticos de la provincia de Cáceres ademas de por la singular arquitectura, mantenimiento de sus fiestas, tradiciones y costumbres. Trujillo has been named one of "The most beautiful villages of Spain" for being one of the most tourist towns of the province of Cáceres in addition to the unique architecture, maintaining their holidays, traditions and customs.
